Spruce Grove Regals Welcome Tyler Lazarick as Assistant Coach

The Spruce Grove Regals are proud to announce that Tyler Lazarick has joined the coaching staff as an Assistant Coach. Tyler brings nearly two decades of teaching, coaching, and community involvement to the Regals bench, making him an incredible asset to our organization.

A Spruce Grove resident since 2004, Tyler has been a familiar face in both the rink and the classroom. He has served as an Edmonton Public School teacher and coach since 2006, combining his passion for education with his love for sport. His coaching résumé is extensive, spanning multiple organizations and levels:

  • Spruce Grove Minor Hockey (2007-2020)

  • Spruce Grove Ringette (2012-2023)

  • PAC U16AA & U17AAA (2022-2025)

In addition to his coaching roles, Tyler has remained active in the game as a player, participating in the ASHL, BHE, and SGBHL. His unique blend of playing experience, teaching background, and coaching knowledge allows him to connect with athletes in meaningful ways—helping them grow on the ice while developing confidence and character off it.

“Spruce Grove has been my home for over 20 years,” Tyler said. “It’s an honor to be part of the Regals coaching staff and to help build on the team’s strong traditions. I’m excited to support our players as they work toward their goals this season.”

With Tyler joining Head Coach Michael Claffey behind the bench, the Regals are set to benefit from a dynamic, experienced coaching staff dedicated to developing talent and fostering a winning culture.
